Help us find the most fascinating people in New Mexico!
The deadline to submit applications to speak at TEDxABQ event in September has now passed. All candidates will be contacted in June with further information.
TEDxABQ is coming back to UNM’s Popejoy Hall in Albuquerque on September 6, 2014! For four years running, the TED.com licensed conference has showcased New Mexico’s biggest ideas and fascinating thinkers to sold-out audiences.
Every year, the event highlights 16 to 20 remarkable homegrown ideas from New Mexico’s most passionate songwriters, lawyers, authors, farmers, scientists, artists, and doctors, among others. View our 2013 speakers.
Whether you’re applying for yourself or someone else that you’d like to see at TEDxABQ in front of 2,000 attendees, we appreciate your interest.
All speakers will be reviewed by a committee, and chosen applicants will be contacted beginning in June 2014.
Selection criteria include:
- - an understanding of the TED format,
- - a new, innovative and game-changing idea,
- - relevance of the topic to New Mexico, and
- - ability to present the idea well (although speaking coaches will be provided).
Submitting a video of the applicant speaking will strengthen your application, and may be requested at a later date. Before wowing 2,000 New Mexicans with their 3, 6, or 9-minute talks, selected speakers will undergo a compelling three-month coaching process.
